The Vigil honor is the highest honor that the lodge can bestow upon its members. It is a high mark of distinction and recognition reserved for those Scouts and Scouter members of the Order, who by reason of exceptional service, personal effort, and unselfish interest, have made distinguished contributions beyond the immediate responsibilities of their position. Under no circumstance should tenure in Scouting or the Order of the Arrow be considered a reason enough for a Vigil honor recommendation.

Vigil honor members must at all times conduct themselves in accordance with the highest ideals of Scouting, the Order of the Arrow, and the Vigil honor. Membership cannot be won by a person’s conscious endeavor. It comes as a recognition of his or her unselfish leadership in service. This fact should be given careful consideration in recommendation of candidates for the Vigil honor.

Any Order of the Arrow member who has been an active Brotherhood member for at least two (2) years upon the meeting of the Vigil Selection Committee, is registered in Scouting, and in good standing with Ti’ak Lodge #404 is eligible for recommendation for the Vigil honor. Any Order of the Arrow member in good standing with Ti’ak Lodge #404 may submit a recommendation form for the Vigil honor, but self-nomination is prohibited.

Introduced at the 1981 National Order of the Arrow Conference, the Founder's Award recognizes Arrowmen who have given outstanding service to their lodge. The award is reserved for an Arrowman who demonstrates that he or she personifies the spirit of selfless service, as advocated by founder E. Urner Goodman and co-founder Carroll A. Edson.

Ti’ak Lodge may petition the national Order of the Arrow committee to present two awards annually. At least one of the two awards must be to a youth under the age of 21. Any Order of the Arrow member in good standing with Ti’ak Lodge #404 may submit a recommendation form for the Founder’s Award, but self-nomination is prohibited.
