Distinguish Yourself
The University of Scouting is a one-day, fun-filled learning experience!
We have gathered together an amazing collection of subjects pertinent to whatever position you presently hold, or anticipate holding, in your pack or troop. Experienced volunteers, and professionals, will lead each session and share their experiences and knowledge with you.
Whether you are new to scouting, a well-tenured leader, or merely looking to learn more about what scouting has to offer, the University of Scouting is the place to be on October 29th. We are extremely grateful to have the use of classroom space at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Perkinston Campus.
From the selection of classes, you will have the opportunity to choose six that interest you. Classes will be assigned on a first-come basis and to avoid disappointment you are encouraged to register early. You can choose a total of any three classes for each period as alternates, should your first choice be filled. The faculty members will make handouts available; however, you will no doubt want to take notes of your own. A pen and notebook is recommended.
Boy Scouts of America is a uniformed organization and as such, we ask that all registered leaders wear the appropriate uniform for their position.
Cost to attend is $12, which includes handouts, a patch, and a hot lunch.
To register, please download the catalog, which includes a complete course schedule.
